Who we are

Chef Werner Wiener: trained at the Kirchenwirt, the original parent restaurant of the Pfeifer family. He further perfected his knowledge and skills in the Tyrol, Switzerland and Southern Germany. In 2008 he returned to his roots to become chef in the Stainzerbauer. Werner Wiener has a credo of total dedication to quality and the use of fresh local products for the composition of established classics in an exciting new presentation. He loves to cook simple meals ranging from “Flecksuppn” – a racy onion based soup – to tender venison medallions.

Restaurant manager and sommelier Peter Weinhofer: came to the Stainzerbauer in 2005 after training in the Tyrol, Southern Germany and in Styria. He has concentrated in depth on the secrets of wine from an early age and successfully completed his training as a qualified sommelier in 2008.
